Mr Alfred Luck, who lived in what is now 10 Luck Street …
… owned a large area at the top of Mowbray Hill from the Grammar School to Invermay Road which was bought from Henry Button and must have originally been part of Martin Mowbray Stephenson’s grant (after whom Mowbray is named).
When Mr Luck subdivided, he named other streets after his family (Dineen Street) and friends (Valentine Street).
