Street Talk – Ferrall Street, Invermay

Named after Alfred Charles Ferrall, who lived on the corner of Forster Street and Invermay Road and who had a large store on the corner of Invermay Road and the Esplanade.

Born in Launceston he was later highly regarded in business circles for his wise and realistic knowledge of financial matters. Eventually he carried on a wholesale business, managed and expanded later by his son, Sir Raymond Ferrall.

Alfred Charles Ferrall was a keen sportsman, one of the foundation members of the Launceston Rotary Club, a president of the Launceston Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Launceston Bank for Savings and held several directorships.
