Luigi Cadorna

Luigo Cadorna was Chief of Staff of the Italian army when they finally entered the war in 1915 by declaring war on Austria and Hungary.

Cadorna had limited success in the field and was a ruthless disciplinarian. He had over 750 men shot for cowardice and blamed defeat on apathy.

In 1917 when the Germans entered the Austrian-Italian campaign he was replaced.
